Credit
When someone allows you to use their money, they have extended you credit. Although we make some loans informally within our families or circles of friends, most of our borrowing is done as part of a formal relationship with a lending institution such as a bank. As a result, our record of handling credit has become formalized, and thus prone to errors that are more difficult to correct than a simple misunderstanding.
